Evenness:A new innovative capacitor system enables capacitive testing of the mass unevenness according to ISO 16549 within a wide yarn count range by individual adaptation of the measuring sensor to the properties of the yarn material with test speed upto 500 m/min and automatic yarn feeding device. Measurable variables delivered by the system are the coefficient of variation of the mass distribution along the yarn length, the spectrogram, and for staple fibre spun yarns the numbers of neps, thick and thin places.

Count:In this test, e.g. according to ISO 2060 or ASTM D6587, a preselected yarn length, e.g. 100 m, is delivered by the yarn feeding device into a collection chamber, and subsequently the weight is measured. By using the principle of a vacuum conveyer the yarn is permanently in contact with the ambient (laboratory) climate. The RK frictionmeter is a device which determines the coefficient of friction µ.device is used to examine the influence of different preparations on the running characteristics of POY, yarns, filaments, wires or other flexible materials or to check the surface structure of thread guides and friction elements.

Working Principle:A test specimen (thread or thin wire) is drawn over a friction body at a defined wrapping angle and a defined speed. During this operation the tensile force on the test thread is measured before and after the friction body. An increase in the tensile force (thread tension) is a measure of the coefficient of friction µ. The coefficient of friction µ is determined very simply with the RK-WIN software
