The behavior of standard- and non-crimp fabrics in forming and draping is of importance in any production process of non-flat, fabric-reinforced composite parts.As a standardized simulation of the draping process a flat circular sample of the fabric to be
tested is deformed at its center by means of a motor-driven piston. A camera with an appropriate illumination inspects the sample at several elevation steps while the sample is rotated in order to inspect a maximum percentage of its surface. In the same manner the sample is scanned by the optional triangulation sensor.
A Windows PC is connected to the instrument via USB. It is used for parameterization and control of the test, the image analysis, as well as for the evaluation, storage, and display of the measured data.
DRAPETEST is suited for fabrics made of glass, Carbon, Aramid, and similar materials. It is based on an earlier development by SAERTEX, a leading producer of non-crimp fabrics, and proved its function and the relevance of results in practice. Image analysis technology developed at the Faserinstitut Bremen (FIBRE) allows the automatic detection of faults.

The motorized version of the PM4 consists of a cassette module and aluminium profile base elements construction. This flexible configurable (in its length) unit is specially designed to inspect long spinnerets with e.g. 17.000 capilliaries fully automatic. A portal construction is assembled on precise grinded linear bearings. Due to the usage of an linear scale, the portal can be positioned very precisely. Scott Type Crease-Flex Abrasion Tester, is to determine the crease-flex abrasion resistance of leather, rubber, cloth, etc. The force loaded on specimen, distance between grips and the
two-way distance can be adjustable. And the force loaded on specimen is of spring type.
Clamp the two specimens in cross shape. Based on the various materials of the specimen, apply the appropriate load. During test, the two specimens are creased and flexed reciprocally.
After reaching the specified number of abrasions, take off test samples to check if they are cracked, wrinkled or discolored.

Down-proof Tester, is to determine the down-proof capability of fabrics used for down-garment, quilt, etc, which are filled with down, feather and fibers.

Take an agreed size specimen from the fabric to be tested to sew a pocket at specified size, fill with a certain weight of down, feathers or a mixture of both, then sew the fabric up to be a testing bag. Clamp the both sides of the bag in the holder. Determine the down-proof ability of the fabric by calculating the number of down and feathers through the fabric.

The compact warp tensionmeter has been developed for measuring the tension forces of warp threads. A special mechanism enables the threading of warp threads, even when warp tensions are high and when threads are close together.
